Outlook 2013 is automapping some shared calendars with prefix "Calendar - Mailboxalias"!

Hello together,

i have some strange behaviour from Outlook 2013 (15.0.4727.1000) in combination with Exchange 2013 CU6.

Some of our Users gets automatically mapped some calendars above the "Shared Calendars" Group in Outlook.

The Calendars all start with an Prefix like "Calender -". It looks like this:

When we delete those automapped calendars they reappear after some time.

We assume that it has some connection with inviting this people to a meeting... but we dont find any concrete connection.

is this a known problem? is there a way to disable this automapping.

the user does not have any permission on this calendars besides free busy and has not tried to open them with "open shared calendars" or sth. like that.

thanks for help.

best,

martin

Martin - have you tried setting the automapping to $false?

Hi Martin,

Please try troubleshooting with the following two switches to see if it will fix the issue:

outlook /cleansharing -- Removes all RSS, Internet Calendar, and SharePoint subscriptions from Account Settings, but leaves all the previously downloaded content on your computer. This is useful if you cannot delete one of these subscriptions within Outlook 2013.

outlook /resetnavpane -- Clears and regenerates the Folder Pane for the current profile. This commands can help to determine if this issue is related to corrupted navigation pane settings.

To use the commands, exit Outlook, press Windows key + R to open the Run command, type outlook /cleansharing (or outlook /resetnavpane) in the Run box and press Enter.

Please let me know the result.

Hi Steve,

thanks for feedback. we already tried both. the calendars are gone for about one day. after this time they reappear step by step...  It looks like that it depands on the users activity in generating/accepting meetings and so on...

Any more ideas? :)

Martin

Thanks for the update, Martin. Based on my research, calendars won't be auto-mapped into Outlook without full access permission on the mailboxes. Do these users have any third-party add-in or macro installed? If so, please try disable these add-ins from File > Options > Add-ins and then try removing these calendars again to see if they will be added back.

Another cause I know that can auto-map calendars is team group functionality, you may also check if this is the root cause.

Please let me know the result.
